1900’s Puffing Billy Steam Train Ride.

Enjoy the scenic drive to the Dandenongs which is approximately an hour and a half from Melbourne CBD. Here you can meet the much loved Puffing Billy, the steam train which is equally admired by the young and the young at heart. Puffing Billy takes passengers for a scenic ride around the narrow winding track through green surrounds of tall towering trees and wide-reaching ferns.

The tour will also take you up the mountain and visit boutique shops through Olinda and Sassafras as well as cafes famous for their hot scones with jam and cream. We will pause at the lookout for a photo opportunity with the city of Melbourne on the horizon. If you love birds, we can stop for a photo opportunity to feed native birds that will perch on your hands while feeding.

As you soak in this genuine experience, travel back in time. This would be a train journey of a life time for some lads and the experience of going back in time and for some senior citizen. While introducing the younger generation to this iconic piece of Victorian history, parents and grandparents can relive their own childhood memories.

The Puffing Billy Railway is two feet six inches narrow-gauge heritage railway in the Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne, Australia. The primary starting point, operations and administration centre, main refreshment room, and ticket purchasing are located at Belgrave station.
